Apa itu PWBoot?

PWBoot adalah singkatan dari Portable Windows Boot, adalah sebuah project yg ditujukan utk membuat OS Windows bisa dijalankan/boot dari dalam media USB storage dengan lebih mudah.

Eksperimen:

1. Colok hardisk eksternal USB.
2. Masukkan DVD installer Windows 7 atau mount dgn program CD/DVD mount, semacam UltraISO, MagicISO, dsb.
3. Jalankan tool PWBoot.
4. Pilih Install Windows, klik Next.
5. Klik tombol Browse di bagian Windows installation image (install.wim): dan pilih file install.wim dlm DVD installer Windows 7 (ada dlm folder /Sources). Di bagian Windows image:, pilih edisi Windows 7 yg mau dipakai. Kotak dibawahnya biarkan saja. Klik Next.
6. Di bagian Available disk partition:, pilih drive hardisk eksternal USB-nya. Klik Next.
7. Di bagian System Boot Volume:, pilih lagi drive hardisk eksternal USB-nya. (Opsional) Silakan ganti nama identitas boot Windows 7 hardisk USB-nya dibagian teks Windows boot description:. Klik Next.
8. Tunggu proses instal selesai.
9. (Penting!) Jangan lupa utk jalankan wizard Patch existing system utk hardisk eksternal-nya klo sudah instal service pack baru.

Catatan:

• Tidak perlu lagi pake program USB tambahan lainnya.
• Jangan lupa untuk patch ulang jika sudah instal update service pack yg baru.

Tips Optimalisasi Windows dlm HDD USB:

• Lebih disarankan utk pake hardisk eksternal USB (HDD) dibanding flashdisk (FDD).
• Matikan/disable service Indexing Service Windows.
• Instal filter driver DiskMod utk bisa menggunakan pagefile dlm USB storage (Windows 7 keatas).
• Defragment hardisk USB-nya.
• Pakai NTFS compression utk hardisk-nya.

5 Tips Pintar Pakai Android

KOMPAS.com - Di setiap versi terbarunya, Google selalu menghadirkan begitu banyak fitur baru yang dijamin dapat memudahkan penggunanya.

Sayangnya, tidak semua fitur dijelaskan secara detail oleh Google.

Berikut KompasTekno hadirkan lima tips untuk mengoperasikan sistem operasi buatan Google tersebut, seperti dikutip dari AllThingsD.

Catatan: Tips ini dicoba dengan menggunakan sistem operasi Android 4.0 alias Ice Cream Sandwich. Kemungkinan ada beberapa fitur yang tidak berjalan dengan baik di versi Android sebelumnya.

1. Menggunakan keyboard dengan lebih mudah

Untuk berpindah dari mode huruf ke angka, Anda bisa menekan tombol "?123". Biasanya, tombol ini terletak di paling bawah, di sebelah tombol ",". 

Namun, hal tersebut terkadang bisa terasa sangat merepotkan. Untuk cara cepatnya, Anda bisa menekan tombol "Q" cukup lama untuk angka 1, huruf "W" untuk angka 2, huruf "E" untuk angka 3, dan seterusnya.

Bagi Anda yang baru berpindah dari ponsel yang dilengkapi dengan keyboard fisik, biasanya akan sedikit merasa kurang nyaman dalam menggunakan keyboard virtual yang ada di ponsel layar sentuh penuh.

Android versi terbaru biasanya sudah dilengkapi dengan fitur Swype, mengizinkan Anda untuk mengetik tanpa harus mengangkat jari dari keyboard. Angkat jari Anda setelah selesai mengetik sebuah kata. Cara ini dijamin lebih akurat dibandingkan dengan cara biasanya.

Untuk melihat apakah fitur Swype ini bekerja atau tidak di ponsel Android Anda, buatlah sebuah kata. Jika tidak ada garis yang terlihat di antara huruf-huruf yang diinginkan, berarti fitur tersebut tidaklah aktif. 

Tahan tombol "Space bar" dan pilihlah menu "Select Input Method". Kemudian pilihlah Swype.

2. Unlock ponsel dengan menggunakan wajah

Untuk membuka halaman Home di sebuah perangkat Android, beberapa pengguna biasanya menggunakan password, PIN, atau membuat sebuah pola. 

Google sendiri sudah menambahkan sebuah fitur keamanan baru. Anda bisa masuk ke halaman Home dengan menggunakan wajah sebagai kodenya.

Fitur ini sayangnya tidak hadir di semua ponsel Android. Mengapa? Ternyata fitur tersebut memanfaatkan kamera pada bagian depan ponsel. Ponsel yang tidak diengkapi dengan dua buah kamera dipastikan tidak dapat menggunakan fitur "Face Unlock" ini.

Bagi Anda pemilik perangkat Android versi terbaru yang dilengkapi dengan kamera depan, Anda bisa mengaktifkan fitur ini dengan mengunjungi menu Settings, Security, Screen Lock, dan pilihlah Face Unlock.

3. Screenshot

Anda bisa mengambil gambar dari tampilan yang sedang dilihat dengan cepat. Anda tidak memerlukan aplikasi tambahan untuk melakukan hal tersebut. Anda cukup menahan tombol Home ditambah tombol "volume down", maka secara otomatis sistem akan mengambil screenshot. 

Hasilnya akan disimpan di folder Gallery. Sayangnya, fitur ini baru tersedia di Android versi Ice Cream Sandwich ke atas.

4. Akses cepat ke kontak tertentu

Ada cara mudah untuk langsung menemukan kontak favorit Anda. Daripada Anda harus mencari satu-satu di menu "Contact" atau mengetik ulang nama orang tersebut, Anda bisa memanfaatkan widget contact.

Dengan widget tersebut, Anda bisa menaruh foto orang tersebut di layar Home. Saat foto tersebut ditekan, Anda bisa langsung memilih untuk menelepon atau mengirimkan pesan teks ke orang tersebut.

Caranya cukup mudah. Anda hanya perlu pergi ke menu All Apps, Widgets, dan pilihlah Widget Contact. Saat memilih widget tersebut, Anda akan diizinkan memilih sebuah kontak dari daftar yang ada.

5. Gunakan Widget Power Control

Dengan menggunakan widget tersebut, Anda bisa menghemat baterai. Melalui widget ini, Anda bisa dengan cepat mematikan atau menyalakan fungsi WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, automatic syncing (Google, Facebook, dan LinkedIn), dan mengatur tingkat kecerahan layar (low, medium, atau auto).

Anda bisa menemukan widget ini secara default.

iFile Lets You Transfer Files From PC to iPhone Over WiFi, Without iTunes

If you own an iPhone, you probably know how much it is dependent on iTunes for everything. Synchronizing your phone to iTunes with the USB cable every time you want to transfer something quickly can really be a pain. iFile can help you with that. It’s an application that lets youtransfer files from your system to the phone or vice versa over the air without having to sync with iTunes.

All you need is a Jailbroken phone with Cydia installed and you are good to go.

First things first, download iFile from Cydia and reboot the phone after installation.

When you return back, navigate to the page where you can see the iFile icon and then open the application.

iFile has a lot of other uses but today we would be discussing its main feature, which is transferring of files between iPhone and the PC over WiFi.

When you open the application, you would be greeted with an explorer type interface. Tap on the WiFi symbol at the bottom for your phone to generate the address to which your browser will connect.

After you tap on the symbol, you would see a black background with white text on it. It can look scary at first to some but you need not worry about it. Just copy the address in the last line to your browser’s address bar on the PC and see the magic unfold. 

Use your browser to check out files on your phone ( like in the screenshot shown below ). You don’t need to pay attention to things that appear on your phone’ s screen. Navigate to any folder you want to on your phone with the help of the browser. Copying and uploading files is a cakewalk and requires just a few clicks.

Download the application and witness it for yourself. iFile can be come in handy for various other tasks, so you should give it a go.
